Perfectionist

“Human success is a quotation from overhead.” -Charles H. Parkhurst

I am a perfectionist. No really I am. I have been working on this site for three days now. Three days with almost no human interaction (with the exception of last night). I want to be done and be pleased with the look… but I am too much of a perfectionist.

My mantra- The site will be done today. The site will be done today. The site will be done today.

I finally made my final purchase for the site, which was the redirect, so now when you put my old URL into your browser, you should be redirected to here. :)

Breakfast:

This morning I woke up a little later than usual, and all I wanted for breakfast was cereal. Normally I am not a cereal eater, but I had a big craving for the stuff. After searching the pantry for a good ten minutes, I found no cereal. :( So I opted for option two:

TJ’s Peanut Flour mixed with water along with half an apple…

And eggs with spinach and tomatoes…

On the agenda today: 3.0 mile run, packing, finalizing the site, and figuring out what the heck Paula Dean is making on TV!

Have a great day everyone! :)

P.S- I will be writing a post about moving to a self-hosted site. It will be a general overview along with tips that I wish I had known before starting off. If you have any specific questions or topics you want me to cover, leave it in the comments!

  1. I’m so glad I found your blog! We have so much in common it is scary. I’m going through the same thing with my blog, but you are a few steps ahead of me. And by a few, I mean a lot because I have yet to get a book on it, lol.

I’m really excited about the follow-up post. How much did it cost for you to self host? BTW, the blog looks great. You’ve inspired me to bunker down (or lock myself in my room, lol) and do mine.

    • Thank you so much! And I’m glad you found my blog!!! I’m going to try and get the follow-up post up in the next few days. I’m heading back to school tomorrow morning, so I’m crossing my fingers that I get it done by tomorrow night. Depending on who you get as your host and where you buy your domain from (you can buy your domain through your host if you wish), it can cost anywhere between $100-$400 total (I got my domain for 3 years and my host for 2). I’ll go into more detail in the follow-up with cost breakdowns.
If you want to get started looking into web hosts, I chose BlueHost as my host and they are pretty good (after I got the kinks worked out ;) )
Hope this helps a little! :)

  2. I am the same way!!! Such a perfectonist. I made SOOOO many changes to my blog and logo before it was done. I truly never thought it’d be done and that I’d be happy with it. You’ll get there!!!

  3. Congrats on purchasing your own domain! Can’t wait to read about your experience :)

  4. Oooh, you’re such an inspiration. I love this blog!
