BOOKED!!!

“It is like a voyage of discovery into unknown lands, seeking not for new territory but for new knowledge. It should appeal to those with a good sense of adventure.” -Frederick Sanger

Have you seen my guest post on Melissa’s blog? Check it out here! I talk about how I’m making the transition from a degree in music to a degree in nutrition.

Ok… I can’t contain my excitement any longer!!!!

KJDF;GHA;KJ9RY2890-28Y SI1-8R21#@!@#!#$294RC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!

Today I BOOKED my flight to Chicago for the Chicago Marathon!!!!!

I had been holding off on it until I had a better feel for my school schedule in the fall, but I *think* I finally have school figured out. ;)

The plan is to fly in Thursday evening, spend part of Friday looking at one of the schools on my list of graduate schools, relaxing on Saturday, running on Sunday, and flying back Monday afternoon. :D

I hate to be all “overdramatic” but I couldn’t help but feel super giddy and excited once I pushed purchase. I finally feel that this marathon is becoming a “reality!”

Since I didn’t fly to St. Louis back in February, I was able to use the travel funds from that trip towards this trip…so it actually didn’t “cost” me anything. Actually, I have $86 remaining for future travel! Score!

Is it October yet? ;)

I feel like I’m sort of falling into a schedule now that I don’t have classes (until Monday when I start Chemistry! Eek!). I wake up, eat, workout, ice, eat, shower, do blog work/ school work/ other stuff, eat, blog, bed. Rinse and repeat.

It’s not that I don’t like this schedule… but I feel like it is rather mundane. And a little… sedentary? I like being active- but I find myself sitting around a lot in front of my computer typing away sending E-mails, writing blog posts, researching graduate programs, etc. It’s all important stuff, but rather boring. I’m hoping to mix it up a little with a job and also some job shadowing in the nutrition field. I’ll keep you posted.

Breakfast:

I started today with my usual breakfast before hitting the gym…

With a little fall thrown into the spring mix.

  • Greek yogurt
  • Multi-grain oats
  • Pumpkin
  • Pears
  • Almond butter
  • Chia seeds

Sounds strange… but delicious.

Then I hit the gym for an hour of spinning…

I sure wasn’t going to be attracting any guys after that workout. ;) Seriously…. I was dripping in sweat. But the gym was REALLY hot today…I think someone forgot to pay the A/C bill!

My knee is *knock on wood* feeling pretty good so I’m going to try running tomorrow and I’m also hitting the gym. :D

Lunch:

My lunch was the bee’s knees…. no literally… a bee wanted it!

I don’t think I’ve ever taken pictures so quickly! It was circling around me and my green monster!

  • Spinach
  • 1/2 banana
  • Vanilla Whey Protein Powder
  • A dash of cocoa powder
  • Almond milk
  • Water
  • Ice

I also had half a whole wheat wrap with cheese.

I then went grocery shopping and headed to Starbucks to do some work. While sitting outside Starbucks, I was contemplating what I wanted for dinner. I got a little creative, and it worked out in the end.

Dinner:

I roasted Brussels sprouts and grape tomatoes while I prepped for the shrimp.

I cooked shrimp with garlic, chives, and lemon juice and just as it was done, I threw in spinach and red peppers. I topped it with a lemon dill yogurt sauce (3 oz Greek yogurt, 1/2 T lemon juice, and chives).

It was actually pretty tasty. I’m proud of myself. ;)

With the excitement for the day, I’m finding it a little difficult to mentally prepare myself for sleep. I guess I’ll finish that guest post I promised I would have done by this evening. ;)

Have a wonderful Wednesday! :D

What is the most exciting thing that has happened to you lately? Or, anything exciting coming up on your schedule?

Your dinner does look pretty tasty! I really need to figure out this roasting thing. Everyone’s roasted veggies always look so tasty, but I have no clue how it’s done.

Nothing exciting has happened to me lately. My Dad told me earlier this week that he got a free trip to Atlantis in Nassau for 4 days and that I could go w/ him..so that’s exciting. I’ve never been to the Atlantis before. I’ll be more excited when the trip is booked!!
