Tri Tri Again!

Long time no talk! How has everyone been?
I’ve been completely engrossed in watching the Olympics online during the day and at night with the (somewhat disappointing) NBC coverage. Of course I have taken some time out of my day to be productive with studying and getting in my final training sessions for my triathlon (which is tomorrow morning) but for the most part, my mind is into the Olympics 24/7. Sad? Maybe just a little.
I think watching all the Olympics coverage the nerves of steel exhibited by all the athletes has rubbed off on me because surprisingly, I am not nervous at all for my race in the morning. However, I do reserve the right to change my mind in the morning.
My training may not have been stellar, but there is no point in fretting about what “coulda, woulda, shoulda” been. I can only go out there and do my own race, soak up the experience, and just have fun. I can analyze splits and training plans after the race.
While tomorrow will not be my first triathlon, it is my first at the Olympic distance and I find it slightly ironic that the Women’s Olympic triathlon is also tomorrow morning. Hopefully the athletic prowess of the elites will trickle down to me a little.
Wish me luck! I’ll be back with a full recap- whether the race goes my way or not!
