Two Years {Giveaway!-CLOSED}

Guess who became a toddler today?!?!?
The Singing Runner turned two years old! I can’t believe that it has two years since I first started this little blog. It seriously feels like much longer!
I started this blog as a 20 year old, college junior who was unsure of what she wanted to do in life. I was unhappy with my academic major and knew that I needed to go in a different direction. I was also a new runner who was training for my first half-marathon. I was insecure with my appearance, my body, and was a bit socially awkward.
So much has changed in two years… and yet, a lot has not.
I am still a runner (although an injury prone one) and I am still socially awkward. I still struggle with my body image and appearance.
But I have graduated college and figured out what direction I want to go in life. I have made new friends and drifted away from some old ones. I have ran numerous races from 5k’s to half-marathons. I even entered the world of triathlons and will be doing my first metric century bike ride tomorrow morning!
Perhaps the biggest change came only two months ago when I moved over 750 miles away from home to the DC area.
These past two years have been filled with ups and downs, triumphs and disappointments, happiness and sadness. However, this little blog has remained constant. It has gone through some changes through the past 735 posts, but it has always been a place for me to document my feelings, thoughts, training, and little snippets of my life. I may not be posting as regularly, but this blog still holds a special place in my life.
I never thought that anyone would read my blog (other than my parents), but I have been blessed to have formed some solid bonds and relationships through this blog. I feel so honored to have the readers that I do and want to thank you for being such an amazing support system for me. I know that my thoughts and ramblings can sometimes become a roller coaster of emotions, and words can not express how appreciative I am of all the advice I have received over the past two years.
In honor of my second blog birthday, I am having a giveaway! It is not a lot (I’m working on a tight budget) but I really wanted to let you know how much you all mean to me.

My name is Katy and I am a 23-year-old living, running, and cycling in and around the Washington, DC metro area. This blog chronicles my life, inner musings, and fitness adventures as I try to navigate this crazy thing called life!

Biggest change in the past two years? Wow that’s tough (but a good question). For the first time in over 45 years of living I finally went out of the country (to Guatemala). I don’t know if that’s so much a change as a meeting of a goal, but it DID change me. Happy bday again to your toddler!!!!

The biggest change for me has been getting married– for sure! But I’ve also faced my share of injuries that have really put a damper on my progress in training. A lot happens in two years! Happy birthday! Love your blog voice and so thankful to have had the chance to run wih you!
Tweeting it also!

Congrats on 2 years! We’ve moved twice in two years, and I’ve taken my running from a casual hobby to a serious part of my life. I never thought I would be here!
I tweeted. Thanks for hosting a giveaway!
Well, I started Law School 2 years ago, so there is that. I also moved to a new apartment and had to get used to my roommates. On the downside, I slipped into unhealthy teritory with food/restriction, so now I am trying to get over that and with that there come a lot of changes.
My biggest change in the last two years was starting grad school for an MBA. It’s been rough working full-time and going to school at night, but the pay-off will be worth it.
happy two years:) 2 years ago I had just started exercising regularly, but hadn’t run in years or been on a bike in 10 years. In the last year I completed a few 5ks, my first half marathon, and a triathlon. That’s huge:)
Before I comment, I must comment on this quote:
I am still a runner (although an injury prone one) and I am still socially awkward. I still struggle with my body image and appearance.
We are literally the same person. Seriously.
The biggest challenge in my life was going junior to senior year in college. I dumped my boyfriend of 4 years, changed majors and quit swimming after competively swimming for 15. Wow looking back that sounds drastic.
PS: Our blogs would be in the same in the grade! YAY 2 years! Now that I’m done rambling.
I retweeted the tweet you just tweeted which brought me here. Have a great night!
Happy Birthday to your blog! I’ve enjoyed reading
Woo-hoo! Congrats on 2 years! It’s fun that you have a way to look back on all that has changed in that time
It’s crazy to me that my blog is approaching it’s 3rd birthday – geez the time flies!
Happy birthday!
wow, so many changes in the past year let alone two. I think the biggest change was getting married.
congrats!!
Hmmm the biggest change that happened to me was having a baby. It completely changed everything, the way I think and the way I lived my life
KATY!! Hello, Beautiful!! So glad I finally have a chance to get on here and congratulate on turning 2! So, biggest change over the past two years has probably been graduating from UA and then moving to VA. I would also probably rank getting involved in the NASA/Space Camp scene as well!
The biggest change in the last two years is graduating from college and realizing that I still have no idea what I am going to do with my life
. Two years ago I had it all planned out- now, I have no idea.
