Sandy, Why-y-y-y????

In case you have been living under a rock, I’m sure you know that Hurricane Sandy is currently pounding down on the East Coast.

I am doing alright here in Maryland, although it is a very eerie feeling. Everything is shut down and I will be unable to go into work until at least Wednesday as the roads and Metro are closed (as they should be).

It is very windy, rainy, and cold, but I am just catching up on work and just waiting as the storm blows through. I’ll admit that I am not freaking out about the storm nearly as much as other people, but I think living in Florida for over 20 years helped a lot. Heck, I thought moving further north would get me AWAY from hurricanes! I’ve already had to deal with one storm this year!

I did go for a short run this morning before the storm got bad. It was rainy and cold, but the winds had not picked up yet, so I felt relatively safe.

Now I’m just sitting tight, making sure that I have plenty of water on hand, and preparing for the worst of the storm to come later this evening.

I scheduled this post to go up later, but as of 8PM, we still had power. Although I don’t think we will for much longer since the winds are really starting to pick up outside…
