for real this time.

Hello… do you remember me? I’m Katy if you have forgotten.
I used to update this blog rather frequently for two years, but then stopped all of a sudden.
Why? I don’t know. I kept telling myself that I would get back into it. That I would post new content at least three times a week, have fun sharing my life and training with you all. Write race recaps and talk about adjusting to live in our Nation’s Capital.
But I just stopped. Work happened. Triathlon training happened. Life happened. The summer became a blur of work, work, work, running, cycling, swimming, and spending time at the gym. But in the middle of it all, I felt unmotivated to write. So I didn’t.
I decided to take the past few months off to basically get my life together and I’m getting there. Not completely, but on my way. I’ve been dealing with a lot of personal things and I’m still working through them.
I’ve been in full on training for triathlons, which actually comes to and end on Sunday with my one (and unfortunately only) Olympic triathlon this season. I wanted to do more, but work always seems to get into the way.
I’ll be starting graduate school next month. I’m feeling a mixture of excitement and nerves, but I’m ready for this next chapter in my life. I’ll be balancing full-time school with work and marathon training so that will be interesting to say the least.
Speaking of work, I’m much more comfortable now. I’m talking to my co-workers more and loving going to work 97% of the time. I wouldn’t say that I have friends here yet (still…it’s been 11 months living in the area) and I’m still feeling lonely, but it’s a work in progress.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I want to do with this blog going forward. I still love writing/ talking about running and the sort, but I also want to shift my focus a little. I have ideas in mind, and will reveal them when the time comes.
In the meantime, I still owe a recap of my April half-marathon and June sprint triathlon. I will also do a recap about my triathlon this Sunday and probably a post summarizing my triathlon training this summer. I’ll get those written soon.
I hope that you all have had a great summer so far and are doing well! I’ve missed you guys and I promise that I’m back (for real for REAL this time).
