Fitness
All my life, I have been a very active person. As a child, I played multiple sports: volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track and field. After graduating high school, my active lifestyle took a step backwards. It was not until the summer after my second year of college that I started to become active again. My activity of choice? Running.
During an average week, I workout six days with one day of rest. On three of those days, I run and the other three days I devote to cross-training. On the day of rest, I still try to remain active whether it is going for a walk, exploring a park, or just a long day of shopping. I try to keep it fun! I am currently in the process of becoming an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and hope to have my certification by December 2012!

My number one favorite form of exercise is running. The best part of my week is a long run or race on a Saturday morning. Running makes me feel confident, strong, and beautiful. A few years ago, I couldn’t imagine ever liking running. Now, I am obsessed and can’t go a day without thinking about it!
I am a big fan of planning workouts and I love training with a goal in sight! It can be a 5K, half-marathon, or even a triathlon.
I love music and I love listening to music while I workout. It helps me zone out and push myself when the going gets tough! A good playlist can make or break a workout! Since I workout six days a week, I am constantly changing and adding music to my playlist.
My name is Katy and I am a 23-year-old living, running, and cycling in and around the Washington, DC metro area. This blog chronicles my life, inner musings, and fitness adventures as I try to navigate this crazy thing called life!
